Comfortable to type on for the size actually.
It is tiny, which is what she wants. She sets it on her lap mostly to type rather than desk because she would have to hunch over to see screen when on a desk. Office software for a year is a real coupe.
For this price, it really can't be beat. This is not powerful enough for gaming, but she uses the wii and playstation for gaming anyway. And the shear number of ports is cool: usb's, micro usb, micro sd card and mini HDMI for projecting netflix or anything else on a tv with a cable I picked up for $3 separately, headphone and separate charging ports.
It's awesome that she can plug in a mouse or a full size keyboard if she is going to type a long document in Word. Daughter rarely disconnects the keyboard because it does protect the screen when folded. It doesn't come with a case of any type, so for a recent weekend trip I snagged a neoprene generic case at a dollar store to protect it from scratches in luggage. I'm using this as a replacement for an old laptop and it's fantastic!
First thing I did when I got it last week was run the Windows 10 update and I must say it was painless. Urok samopoznaniya v 7 klasse teplo chelovecheskogo obscheniya 1. The touchscreen makes it great for reading books and playing games, but the magnetically attached keyboard is perfect for browsing the web and typing and social media. I have a lot of pictures and files on an external hard drive which I can easily access by connecting it to the regular USB port on the RCA Cambio. Eventually, I will get around to moving all my stuff to the cloud! I was also pleased with how easily it found my printer and connected to it once I was on our home WiFi network. Here's some of what I've done with this little gem so far: 1) Played Pandora music through my Bluetooth speaker that I keep in the kitchen.
2) Wrote an agenda for PTA meeting at my son's school on (included!) Microsoft Word program and printed many copies. 3) Attached it to our TV with an HDMI cable to watch a Netflix movie. 4) Downloaded the free Facebook app from the Windows store to read and post 5) Downloaded and played Candy Crush (with keyboard detached). 6) Set up Mint account for personal finance planning and bill paying. Negatives: Not many. I'd be happier if the battery life was longer, but it's still an improvement over my last laptop. It's also taking some getting used to a smaller keyboard, although I'll trade that for the convenience of being able to take this with me wherever I go because it's lightweight and easily fits in my bag.
Overall, I highly recommend this RCA Windows tablet/laptop. For the price, it can't be beat. I just purchased this tablet as a Value of the Day. I have the 10.1' RCA Pro tablet and had the experience (as did many others) of having it just not turn on one day (only after a few month's very careful use based on reading the problems with it). I got a replacement tablet in a month without much difficulty and have been using that one for about a month-not sure how long this one may last. I wanted to upgrade to Windows 10 and my old laptop won't do that so buying this is a cheap way to do that. I bit the bullet and purchased the protection plan so I have very little risk involved here in case this one decides to stop working.
When the tablet of mine works, it is great but there does seem to be a higher degree of risk associated with purchasing RCA tablets so I highly encourage you to get the protection plan. I normally don't do that but after being burned once, I learned my lesson. Don't think like I did that if you are really careful with this tablet that you should be OK. That's what I though with the tablet that had to be replaced. I have read similar reviews of some of RCAs newer tablets and I still see reports of that same problem of not turning on all of a sudden. So do yourself a favor and get the protection plan and get a great price on a Windows 10 unit and some peace of mind too.
